People who know me know that there is nothing I am more passionate about in this world than football. It’s the greatest game on earth and the only thing I want to do in life is eat, sleep, and breath football.
This NFL season, the world has been captured by the relationship of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. A lot of people have had issue with this but, I am here to tell you why Taylor Swift is good for football.
To start, I would like to preface I am not an outright fan of Taylor’s music but, I enjoy some of her songs and have massive respect for the great performer and genius businesswoman that she is. Taylor has received a lot of unnecessary heat from football fans for something that isn’t even her fault.
Once the rumors were confirmed and Swift started attending Kansas City Chiefs games, the internet exploded with excitement for Swift and Kelce’s relationship. However, the more Taylor continued to go and support Kelce, the anger of football fans began to increase.
The NFL began to show Taylor on every broadcast of Chiefs games which annoyed a lot of football fans because she has nothing to do with football. People continued to lose it as the season went on and Taylor would only be shown more and more.
The hate she has received for this is just beyond stupid to me as she cannot control where camera operators point their cameras. The NFL would be stupid to not show her at games because she is the biggest star in the world whether people like it or not and the league is ecstatic to have her a fan of their product.
Like she does with most things she is attached to, she has brought a lot of good publicity to the league and a lot of new viewers to the game. She has even talked about how she has really enjoyed football and has become a big fan herself.
People have blown this whole thing out of proportion and truly just need to leave Taylor alone. Fans are acting like she is the only thing being shown during Chiefs games when she has only been shown on average for 25 seconds out the three-hour game that she attends.
Her and Kelce seem legitimately happy and I’m always going to root for a couple like that. I have enjoyed Taylor’s time as a football fan, and I am excited to see it continue in the future.
To the fans she has brought to the game, I am excited for you to continue enjoying the great league that is the NFL. To the fans who want her gone and can’t stand seeing her, I’m sorry a powerful woman makes you insecure and I suggest you find a new league to watch.
