Northeast Division top-seeded Stonehill, ranked No. 25 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, won their first NE-10 title since 2008 after a 25-3 season.

The Skyhawks defeated their NE-10 rival, Saint Anselm College, in the championship game at Merkert Gymnasium on Sunday, March 8.

Sophomore Kayla Raymond led the Skyhawks with 17 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Senior Kelsey Shaw also contributed a season-high 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a blocked shot and steal. Junior Madison Seymour had 13 points and Senior Gabrielle Reuter had 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a season-high, six blocked shots.

Senior Grace Carter was playing in the 100th game of her career, joining classmates Shaw and Reuter with over 100 career games.

Kayla Raymond was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player after she averaged 18 points on 46.7 percent shooting, including 36.8 percent from the three-point line, 7.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals over Stonehill's three NE-10 tournament wins. Raymond is joined on the All-Tournament team from Stonehill by seniors Shaw and Reuter.

Stonehill lost NE-10 final games to Franklin Pierce in 2009 and Bentley two years ago since winning its last championship 12 years ago.

The girl’s team was scheduled to head to the NCAA Division 2 East Regional round against ECC champs Daemen College at Adelphi University, which would have begun on March 13, but was canceled as the NCAA suspended all remaining winter and spring seasons due to Coronavirus.
