Student Spotlight: Louis Sorrenti

By: Justine Long

Q: What are you involved in on campus?

A: I have been involved in many different clubs throughout my Stonehill career. However, the ones I have had the most involvement with are Stonehill Theater Company (STC), Stonehill Musical Theatre Club (SMTC), Dance Club, and Ultimate Frisbee.

Q: What do you do as President of SMTC?

A: As the president, I am tasked with the general oversight of the club’s activities. In a normal year, I would have communicated with the e-board and production staff to stage and produce a musical during the Spring semester. However this year, we produced our very own virtual cabaret. So, my job this year was to organize our recordings and compile them into a full-length video with the help of my production staff. We still have a ways to go before the video is ready but we are in a great spot for the editing process.

Q: What have been some highlights of your senior year?

A: Surprisingly, I had a lot of highlights come from my senior year. On the academic front, I graduated top of my class in marketing and I placed first at this year's DataFest with my team, the PROC Hawks. On the performance side, I acted in two STC shows, Love Sick and Hand of God, and a thesis film titled Us. I also took 3 dance classes and performed 5 dances at this year’s Spring dance recital. While it was a less than perfect ending, I am glad to have these achievements to highlight my senior year.

Q: What is your advice to First-Year Students?

A: My advice to first years would be to do everything you can within your limits. Don’t be afraid to push the boundaries and see how much you can do with the time you have. Who knows, maybe that club you always wanted to try will be the one you cherish the most

Q: What are you going to miss about Stonehill?

A: The things I will miss about Stonehill include dance, theater, and frisbee practices, tech week preparation for shows, in-person learning, and all the spare time I currently have. However, the thing I will miss the most about Stonehill is seeing all of my friends on a regular basis. While this will be the biggest change for me, I hope to keep in contact with the people who made my experience at Stonehill College unforgettable.
