Stonehill entered into an agreement to purchase Easton Country Club on March 5, which will now serve as home to the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf team starting next season and the new Men’s Golf team, which will begin competing in the 2027-2028 school year.
The college, in its announcement, said this agreement aligns with priorities outlined in the College’s five-year strategic plan, Stonehill 2030: Building Together, by continuing to reinforce its commitment to unlocking new opportunities for students and members of the community through academic and extracurricular activities.
The 150-acre Easton Country Club will remain semi-private, open to students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as members of the local golfing community.
The 18-hole course is 3 miles from campus and takes less than 10 minutes to reach from the college.
The current general manager of Easton Country Club, Mark Lombardi, will remain in his position to continue to oversee the club's daily operations.
The College, in its statement issued on March 5, said it hoped to build upon the club's facilities and services in the near future.
The club will also generate new revenue for the college through events, programs, and partnerships with local organizations and community members, the college said.
