Stonehill College held its annual spring concert on March 21 with the band, Coin, headlining, but the reception may not have been what the school was hoping.

“Boring. Empty. Weird,” said senior Meg Flynn.

Flynn wasted no words in her description of the event, and while others may not have been as overt with how they talked about it, they conveyed similar messages.

“I was disappointed,” said Jillian Brouillard, a freshman at Stonehill. “I ended up leaving early because it was boring.”

Brouillard didn’t know what to expect ahead of her first spring concert, but any expectations that did exist were surely let down, and she wasn’t the only student who felt this way.

“The band was good,” said Kara McManus, a senior. “But it just wasn’t the vibe for a college spring concert.”

That seemed to be the consensus among many students. For a school that has seen renowned performers such as Aerosmith, Meat Loaf, Maroon 5, A Tribe Called Quest, and Charli XCX, students seemed to be looking for more from the performance.

“I was hoping for my last spring concert at Stonehill to be the best one yet,” said senior Fallon Hinz. “Unfortunately, it wasn’t.”
