President Rev. John Denning, C.S.C. announced that in-person classes will resume on Monday as of an email update this morning.
In addition to starting in-person classes again, Denning sent out a list of restrictions that he said will be “temporarily in place while we monitor our testing results.”
The new updates include continuing the twice per-week testing for residential and commuter students, in-person access to the library, a one-person limit at tables in the dining commons, reopening the Sports Complex, in-person masses at limited capacities, in-person work study shifts resuming, and access to residence hall common areas at 50 percent capacity.
In regard to mingling within an individual resident hall, Denning said that the rules will remain relatively the same. “Students are expected to continue to only access their individual residence hall room during this time,” he said.
Denning said that students are expected to continue to restrict all off-campus travel unless absolutely necessary.
“This transition back to in-person learning will require a great commitment and diligence on our part, and I ask for your careful attention and adherence to our community guidelines and expectations, which will optimize our safety and success moving forward,” Denning said. “I recognize this is not an easy time, but in order for us to be as successful as we were this past fall, I ask that you be vigilant in your efforts to protect yourself and fellow community members. Any violations of our policies and protocols will result in disciplinary action.”
The president closed his message to the school by saying he is praying for the community as we navigate this challenging semester.
