Author Chuck Hogan to discuss new true crime book at Stonehill

By Mack Eon

STONEHILL COLLEGE- New York Times bestselling author and screenwriter Chuck Hogan will visit Stonehill on Monday, Sept. 29, to discuss his latest book, The Carpool Detectives: A True Story of Four Moms, Two Bodies, and One Mysterious Cold Case. The event begins with lunch at 1 p.m. in Martin Auditorium, followed by Hogan’s talk at 1:30 p.m.

Hogan, whose acclaimed crime novel The Town was adapted into the hit 2010 film directed by and starring Ben Affleck, has built a career at the crossroads of crime writing and Hollywood. His work spans bestselling novels, feature films, and television.

In addition to The Town and his most recent novel Gangland- named one of the New York Times’ Ten Best Crime Novels of the Year- Hogan co-authored The Strain trilogy with filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, which was later adapted into a successful FX television series.

His upcoming talk will highlight The Carpool Detectives, a work of narrative nonfiction that follows four suburban mothers-turned-amateur sleuths as they attempt to unravel a decades-old mystery.

The event is free and open to the public. To attend, RSVP to martininstitute@stonehill.edu or call 508-565-1131.
