Annual safety report shows high levels of liquor law referrals

A new security and fire safety report from Campus Police shows that referrals for discipline were the highest crime-related incidents during 2023.


There were 243 liquor law referrals, one drug law referral, and eight weapons law referrals. All of these referrals took place on campus property.


Weapons law referrals have increased since 2021. In 2021 there was one referral, and in 2022 there were three referrals.

The report also shows reports of other crimes, including rape, fondling, manslaughter, dating violence, and stalking. In 2023, there were five reports of rape, four reports of fondling, one report of dating violence, and four reports of stalking. There were no reports of manslaughter, incest, statutory rape, robbery, or arson. The full report can be accessed here.
